Favorite post this week...





Take a look at the Uppercase blog post by Janine Vangool, about the Australian Tapestry Workshop. The pictures and colors are marvelous. 
I have some reservation about the tapestry "method" in itself, which consist in copying a painting from an artist with wool, or rather "translate" it, as they say. Especially, when in the video, they explain that they take 6 months to weave an aboriginal painting into a tapestry, I don't quite understand. The original painting is fine with me. But... This conversation has being going on for a long time... Enjoy the pictures and the expertise of the weavers...

J'ai quelques doutes sur la "méthode" tapisserie en soi, qui consiste à copier avec de la laine une peinture d'un artiste, ou plutôt à la "traduire", comme ils disent. Particulièrement quand dans la video ils expliquent qu'ils ont mis 6 mois à tisser un tableau d'un artiste aborigène, je ne comprends pas. La peinture originale me convient très bien. Mais... cette discussion dure depuis longtemps... Profitez des photos et du savoir faire des tisserands...
